At last we are able to offer the Landlord’s Preferred Policy that is very well regarded in Australia and will be eagerly taken up by our Aussie landlords who own property here.

It’s approved by the REINZ and at the moment we are the only company in Rotorua offering it.

It is ONLY available for properties managed by Licensed Real Estate firms so landlords cannot buy this product direct, and it is NOT available to unlicensed property managers.
If you withdraw the property from the management of an REINZ member the policy is cancelled, but it can be transferred between members.
The policy features are, in our view, significantly better than anything else in the market, and we are pleased to offer this to you.

We have a supply of further information for you if requested, and I can confirm that I have already insured my own rental properties with Real Landlord Insurance NZ ltd.,. We had two terrible experiences with a well known kiwi insurance firm and I am only sorry it has taken Terri so long to get off the ground here. In both our nightmare cases we would have had full coverage IF we had this new policy. One was an absconding tenant and the other was malicious damage, fairly typical and costly circumstances in our experience.

Premiums are $295.00 per property per annum, includes gst.

Policies start on May 1st each year and can be pro-rata for the remaining months if you start during another month.

There is a small discount for owners of 3 or more properties under each policy. We do all the paperwork, pay the premium for you from rents received, and all you need to do is firstly to satisfy yourself that this is a good idea, and then instruct us by faxing or posting a response slip back to us- available upon request.

As this is a first for us we welcome your questions so feel free, but give us time to get the right answer for you. Terri’s New Zealand manager is a Hamilton Lady who has 14 years experience as a broker and underwriter, and owns several rental properties herself so these people have practical experience and knowledge and it’s a breath of fresh air for us to talk to insurers who know what we are talking about and actually understand what our landlords want.
